From Dissertation to Celebration: A Progresso Fiesta with Dr. La_Tina!

Aside from Mom’s shoulder replacement this week, so much has happened since our last health update to this website two years ago…

When one of us crosses a major milestone, you know we're bringing the family, the food, and a little flair! So, naturally, when I—Dr. Tina Villarreal de Perez—became the first “doctor” in the family this April, Mom and I took celebrating to the next level. Now, let's be clear: I'm not *that* kind of doctor (no stethoscope or white coat here). I'm more of the “Doctor of Education” variety—the kind of doctor who might diagnose your thesis instead of your tonsils!

To mark the occasion, Mom and I put on our matching red “Dissertation Defended” t-shirts and crossed the Progresso border for an adventure of laughs, lunch, and family fun with Tia Rosa, Delinda, Roger, Melissa, and Marco (all pictured above). It was a celebration *con sabor*—one that only happens when familia and accomplishment mix south of the border!
