Delayed But Still Here (Answering a Higher Calling!)

Greetings Carmen & Gracie fans!

Sorry for the late update—I had to take a break from the hospital mission field to tend to the Stark mission field today. Thank you for your patience, and here’s the latest:

Gracie Update

Gracie's pain is still playing peekaboo, only manageable with meds. Turns out, pancreatitis is a “bonus” prize some folks get after the stent procedure. Thanks to pain meds, she’s been able to get some sleep and moved back to liquids only after eating ice chips as if (as she says) they were chicharrones. LOL Don't be jealous!

The only solution is to give the pancreas a time-out (a break) and no food. Her original surgeon told her, “Don’t let them send you home with pain!” So, the goal is to get her through a day and night with food and no pain before we take her home so she'll be at least one or possible two more nights. Since the meds are doing their job, feel free to start sending calls or texts her way again!

Mom’s Take

As for Mom, she’s hanging in there, saying the Lord must be teaching her patience and endurance with all these adjustments in appointments, therapy, and new faces on the staff. True to Mama bear form, she’s still asking a thousand questions about Gracie’s health, her pain levels, and any updates.
