James 3:10

Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

The verse states "Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing," this highlights the inconsistency of using the same tongue to praise God and to curse others.

This passage is about the power and the potential harm of the tongue and emphasizes that such contradictory behavior is inappropriate for believers in Jesus.

This verse reinforces the need for consistency between our words and faith. A follower of Jesus speech should reflect the character of God and the values we claim to adhere to. 

Father God , we come before You today to in the name of Jesus to ask for Your help to control our tongue. Our words have power to speak life, offer blessings and also curse. Please cleanse our mouths of all negativity, anger, and bitterness. Fill us with Your love and help us to speak words that build others up and honor You. Keep us far from the temptation to curse, and help us choose words that are kind and uplifting to those around us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.🙏🏽
