Happy Sunday
Luke 20:38
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
In this verse, Jesus confronts the Sadducees, (known for their disbelief in the resurrection) who attempt to challenge Him with a hypothetical case attempting to discredit the concept of resurrection. Jesus counters their argument stating God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
This emphasizes the ongoing relationship between God, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who continue to exist in His presence. By revealing their misunderstanding of Scripture and the power of God, Jesus affirms that the resurrection is both a reality and an essential for faith.
The declaration "for to him all are alive" should serves as a wonderful reminder that as believers we share a connection to the eternal life made possible through God.
This also reinforces the belief in life after death and the resurrection. Jesus teaching not only refutes the Sadducees' skepticism but also reaffirms our faith in the resurrection.
Father God, we believe You are the God of the living and not the dead. Thank You that as believers in Jesus we can take comfort knowing those who have passed away are alive to You. Help us live each day with the confidence that Your with us, guiding us and feeding us spiritually. Thank You for Your love and grace that never fails. In Jesus we name we pray, Amen.🤲🏽👏🏽
