Job 41:7

Can you fill its hide with harpoons or its head with fishing spears?

This verse is a part of a larger passage in the Book of Job that describes a creature known as Leviathan. Throughout the passage, God asks Job a series of rhetorical questions that highlight the power and magnificence of this fearsome creature.

Leviathan is described as a terrifying sea monster, with impenetrable scales, fiery breath, and a strong and unyielding nature.

Job 41:7 encourages us to release our anxieties to God and to trust He’s in control, even when we face the “Leviathans” in our lives.

The reason behind mentioning Leviathan is to show the distance between God and Job: Leviathan is incredibly dangerous and incomprehensible to a human, but God is greater.

Father God, today I pray for Your guidance and wisdom as I navigate the challenges of life. Help me discern Your will and follow Your path. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, so I’ll be empowered to live a life pleasing to You. Give me the courage to trust in Your goodness and surrender to Your will. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.🙏🏽
