Happy Sunday
1Samuel 2:4
The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.
Girded means to prepare oneself for action.
The verse reflects Hannah's praise for God's ability to bring down the powerful and exalt the weak. The "bows of the mighty men" symbolize the strength of the powerful, but Hannah declares that those bows are broken.
This imagery of broken bows conveys the message that human strength and power are ultimately useless when compared to God's sovereignty. The "stumbled" are those who were weak and oppressed, but they are now "girded with strength," indicating God has uplifted them.
This verse serves as a testament to God's faithfulness and provision for those who are weak or downtrodden. It should serve as a source of hope and encouragement when we feel powerless or overwhelmed. We need to stand firm in the faith that
our God is able to bring down the proud and arrogant and exalt the humble and meek.
Father God, today I pray that my family and friends have courage to face any and all trials that distract them from You. Break the bows of all those who wish them harm and give them the strength to overcome any spirts of fear or uncertainty. May our faith in You be the source of bravery and victory. In Jesus name we pray, 🤲🏽 Amen.🙏🏽
