John 21:3
Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.
In John 21:3, the disciples agree to accompany Peter, indicating a tight-knit brotherhood among them. However, their night of fishing resulted in failure, which sets the stage for a miraculous encounter that reaffirms a dependence on Jesus.
Much the same way, Jesus healing a man born blind, said the man was born blind so "that the works of God might be displayed in him".
The disciples initially speculated that the man or his parents had sinned, but Jesus clarifies that was not the case. Jesus healed the man has demonstration of God's power and glory.
Often times our hardships are self inflicted, maybe even by chance but there has definitely been a time we’ve wondered what, when and how we’ve ended up in the predicament where in.
Regardless, God has exactly where He wants us and will use us as a demonstration of his power that’s revealed at the perfect time. Keep the faith because eventually the potter will put his clay in the
kiln to complete his master piece.
Father God, thank You for the salvation You offer me and all my brothers and sisters through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Father we were never promised a life free of hardship, but what we are promised is You’ll never leave or forsake us. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego You didn’t keep them from the fiery furnace but joined them. Father we don’t ask that You keep us from hardship or fiery furnaces
of life but we boldly pray You go with us and make us fire proof. In Jesus name we pray, Amen…
