Ecclesiastes 12:13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

The Hebrew word "fear" (yirah) used in Ecclesiastes implies reverence and awe, not terror but a recognizing of God's majesty. By living in a way that keeps Gods commandments we are acknowledging His power and wisdom. Living according to his commandments is our ultimate purpose and responsibility. It's the key to finding meaning and life's fulfillment, as opposed to the "vanity" and emptiness experienced when we're seeking happiness through earthly pursuits. This verse should serve as a reminder that God will bring all our  works into judgment. This should emphasize the importance of living a life of integrity and righteousness in preparation for the day of reckoning. Father God, thank You for today's verse and wisdom it contains. Help us to learn the lessons it has to offer so we can live a righteous life giving You praise and glory. We pray our hearts and eyes remain fixed upon Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith who in His name we pray, AMEN.🙏🏽
