Deuteronomy 8:3

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Worldly things never seem to satisfy.

What a wonderful reminder of the sustenance in the Bible that will feed us spiritually. The way some of us don’t like to miss meals is the same way we should seek our spiritual food. Spiritually starved individuals are often easily spotted and if we’re unable to spot them we could also use additional nourishment ourselves.

God was teaching his people in the wilderness. He could have fed them many ways, but chose to feed them in a way as to teach them that they needed His word to provide for their lives even more than they needed food.

When the Israelites were led through the wilderness God was humbling them and revealing what was in their hearts. This is a reason for life's difficulties and why we experience suffering, pain and evil.

When we are going through the wilderness what is revealed in our hearts? Do we complain or seek the spiritual food from the mouth of the Lord needed to traverse the wilderness.

Father God, the same way we grow hungry before mealtime, invoke in us a spiritual hunger for the food only You can provide. You alone are the Bread of Life who can provide for us both physically and spiritually daily, in Jesus name we pray, Amen🙏🏽 🙌🏽….
