Isaiah 43:19

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah foreshadows that the Lord will judge Babylon and promises His exiled people new life. The Israelites are in desperate circumstances in Babylon. Life looks bleak and they are stuck in a pit of despair as they look back in life. But God is saying when you remember the past, look at the great work I have done for you, not the discouragement and defeat. God is a God of miracles and He will make a way just has He has done before for them. He creates roads in the wilderness. He forms rivers in the desert. He will make a new way.

Do not lose hope in times of trouble, our God is always working both in the seen and unseen. His timing is perfect and He’s very capable of bringing good out of difficulty.

Father God, Thank You for today’s comforting scripture. Thank You that Your working something new in our lives. Help us be still when You are moving and working. May we keep our gaze fixed on You in victory and defeat. Our hope and trust is in You. In Jesus Holy and precious name we pray, Amen. 🤲🏽
