Morning Update: Getting Mom Settled into CC Rehab!

Well, we’re off to a bumpy start here! Mom had a groggy morning thanks to Tylenol with codeine instead of the plain stuff, which has her in and out of sleep 😴💤. Needless to say, I called in the RN for a quick meds adjustment so we can get her back to her alert, feisty self! 💪🏽

And here’s a surprise: after we got Mom settled in her new room, we discovered the last patient left a full "yard sale" behind 🛒—wheelchair, walker, hospital bags, clothes, shoes… you name it, it was there! So, armed with Clorox wipes, I did a full clean-up 🧼🧽 and decided I should probably be on the payroll by now 💼😂!

Oh, and the shoulder sling! Let’s just say whoever put it on last was playing Twister 🕹️🎲—and probably why she was more in pain than normal - so that got a quick fix, too, thanks to the morning RN 🙌🏼

Despite the hiccups, we’re still so grateful to have her here ❤️. It’s just taking a little tweaking to get everything just right. On a lighter note, we hear the meals here at CC Rehab are legendary! 🍽️ Grace, Hondo, and I all snagged meal tickets to join Mom for a brisket lunch today 🥩😋. Rumor has it this brisket could win Top Chef, but Xander's meals from Christus Spohn Surgical will certainly be tough competition! We'll be sure to give you our official family foodie review afterward!
